One guy (not this one) invited me to a Zoom date. I thought about it for all of like 6 seconds. To be honest, I am not taking pandemic dating seriously and so I therefore cannot take a Zoom date seriously.
In my view, a date over videoconferencing is all of the awkwardness of meeting for the first time, with none of the fun of getting a little drunk. Unless you’re okay with drinking alone (which I definitely am), but it does seem a little sad and weird.
My biggest fear however, is if the “date” goes poorly and/or I want to dip out early. How am I going to excuse myself? He’ll know I have no where to go. None of us do.
Zoom dates? Thanks, but no thanks.
