The Invisible Enemy

Did you just get chills? Because I just got chills. Unknowing givers? Screens that shout? Invisible enemy? It’s charming yet creepy. It’s full of wistful longing and then punches you in the gut with dread.

Or maybe I’ve just watched too many of the President’s podium “updates” so my baseline emotion right now is persistent dread and anxiety.

Anyway, the amount of thought J put in to his submission warranted a conversation. I learned J is a musician who is working in liquor sales and distribution to pay the bills. Seeing as how liquor stores are still open, J has been very, very busy. He said his place had 20k in sales yesterday alone. They are consistently outpacing their New Year’s Eve sales numbers – which is far and above the highest single day sales each year. And they’re moving more and more product each day that the virus gets worse. Apparently Tito’s is the hottest commodity, flying off the shelf the second they stock it. Which makes sense to me. Mid-level vodka does seem an efficient choice.

J, out here doing the lords work, gets an A+. And we salute you for your service to our country.
